Grapevine Dental

We have implemented some of the latest evidence-based technologies in our Grapevine dental office. This investment in you allows us to provide you with more precise, comfortable, and efficient treatment.

Here are some of the ways that we use technology at Grapevine Dental to provide an exceptional overall experience.

Digital Phosphor Plates

Sometimes digital sensors can be uncomfortable and difficult to manage, especially for patients with small mouths or a narrow upper palate. Digital phosphor plates are more flexible and increase patient comfort. They also reduce the number of retakes required because of shifting of sensors and cables.

3-D Cone Beam Technology

Surgical procedures, such as the placement of dental implants, require the utmost precision and skill in order for you to enjoy the best results. By utilizing digital 3-D cone beam technology, Dr. Colangelo is able to plan your entire procedure accurately before he even begins.

3-D imaging captures your entire dental structure and the surrounding bones, joints, and sinuses – vital information for dental implants and extractions. Accurate planning improves overall success rates for dental procedures.

Nitrous Oxide

At Grapevine Dental, we are committed to providing patients with comfortable and personalized dentistry that supports a healthy smile. We pride ourselves in helping even the most anxious patients relax in the dental chair. When you need a little help, nitrous oxide sedation can take the edge off. Nitrous oxide, also known as laughing gas, is safe and effective for adults and children alike.

Intraoral Camera

One of the best ways to explain treatment includes being able to show you exactly what Dr. Colangelo sees when he makes a diagnosis.

Our small, handheld intraoral camera makes this possible by taking high-resolution images, which we can then pull up on our treatment room monitors to discuss with you. We can show you wear, cracks, recession, and even areas you might be missing when you brush your teeth.

Electric Handpieces

Electric handpieces eliminate much of the vibration and sound associated with dental procedures, making treatment more comfortable and relaxing for our patients.

Digital X-Rays

By using digital dental x-rays, we have reduced the amount of radiation exposure you experience by up to 80 percent.

Your safety is important to us, and digital x-rays allow us to gain valuable diagnostic information without sacrificing your health. Did you know that you get more radiation exposure from the environment while being outside than you do by having routine dental x-rays? We take only the images necessary to detect common dental conditions such as decay, bone loss, and infection.

Email and Text Reminders

Everyone has a busy schedule these days. We offer text and email reminders to make it easier for you to keep track of your dental appointments. This friendly message makes it easier to remember you have a dental cleaning or procedure, especially in the midst of a busy day full of distractions.

Digital Impressions

No one likes sticky, gooey, uncomfortable impression material. In some cases, it can even stimulate the gag reflex, making the entire process uncomfortable.

At Grapevine Dental, we use digital impressions to scan your teeth, eliminating the need for impression materials and trays. Digital impressions eliminate the distortions and bubbles that can commonly cause inaccuracies with old-fashioned impressions.

Headphones and Music

Some patients appreciate a soothing distraction during treatment. We offer headphones and music that reduces the ambient noise from your dental procedure. It also gives you a chance to listen to some of your favorite artists while we take care of you.

Panoramic X-Rays

Every type of dental x-ray has a specific purpose. Panoramic x-rays give us a "big picture" view of your smile.

A panoramic x-ray moves around your head and captures all of your teeth, bone levels, and even your jaw joints. We commonly use panoramic x-rays when we are planning  dental implants or wisdom teeth extractions as well as when we are looking for certain kinds of cysts and tumors.
