Improve Your Quality of Life with Restorative Dentistry in Grapevine

How are your damaged teeth impacting your life? Do you hold your hand up in front of your mouth when you smile? Do you avoid some of your favorite foods? Do you experience constant dental pain?

There’s no reason to go through life like that!

At Grapevine Dental in Grapevine, we have plenty of tools and strategies to restore your smile, improve its appearance, and relieve your pain so you can smile confidently again. We’d love to sit down with you, discuss all your options, and create a care plan just for you.

In many cases, restorative dentistry is needed because fear or anxiety cause people to avoid routine dental visits, leading to ongoing problems and creating a vicious cycle of fear and avoidance. If this sounds like you, let’s break that cycle. Your comfort is our commitment, and we’ll do everything we can to help you have a comfortable, relaxing experience at our Grapevine dental office. Dental anxiety is incredibly common, and you’re not alone. Sedation dentistry might be a great choice to help you get the care you need for a healthy smile.

Are you not sure whether you’re ready to take the leap? At Grapevine Dental, we offer digital smile design to help you visualize the possibilities of a transformed smile. We love seeing our patients’ faces light up when they know what’s possible!

Dental Fillings — Repair Cavities and Minor Damage

Fillings are the most common restorative treatment we perform at Grapevine Dental and the simplest. In most cases, you’ll be in and out in about an hour. The variety of materials available for dental fillings makes it possible for us to not just fill cavities but also repair several minor structural and cosmetic concerns, including cracks, chips, worn teeth, and areas of discoloration.

Dental Crowns — Restore Damaged Teeth and Replace Missing Teeth

Crowns, also often referred to as “caps,” sit over the tooth like a hard outer shell, protecting the tooth inside and preventing further harm. When repair with a crown is possible, this is almost always the preferable option since it preserves your natural tooth and root.

Crowns can be either created in a lab or crafted here in our office. There are advantages to each option, and your dentist will talk to you about which type will best meet your needs. Metal crowns are often better for teeth that need to perform chewing tasks while porcelain or ceramic crowns are an excellent choice for the teeth that are visible when you smile.

If you need a crown to repair a broken or severely damaged tooth, there’s a good chance that you will also need root canal therapy. Don’t worry—despite the root canal’s bad reputation, it’s a much easier and more comfortable procedure than it’s been made out to be. We take extra care to make sure that our dental care is pain-free. During root canal therapy, we remove the damaged root and any infected material inside the tooth, clean the tooth, and seal it. The crown then protects the tooth from any further damage. If you’re experiencing pain caused by your damaged tooth, root canal therapy will give you relief.

Dental Bridges Quickly and Efficiently Replace Missing Teeth

Dental bridges are a popular method of replacing missing teeth. Made up of crowns, they “bridge the gap” to fill in the space left by either one or multiple missing teeth, making your smile whole, completing the biting surface to restore comfort, and preventing existing teeth from shifting or moving.

Dental Implants Replace Teeth and Maintain Bone Density

The gold standard of tooth replacements, implants do more than just replace a lost tooth. They also prevent further deterioration of the bone structure to help you avoid future missing teeth.

A traditional bridge is held in place using crowns affixed to your existing teeth. While this style of bridge does a great job of helping restore the appearance of your smile, it can’t improve your dental health in the way an implant can. First, an implant doesn’t require alteration to otherwise healthy teeth. Second, the “implant” part of the dental implant system, a tiny metal post, is surgically placed into your jawbone. How does this help your dental health? The post acts like an artificial root, stimulating the jawbone to maintain itself. Without a root to serve this function, the bone beneath a missing tooth eventually deteriorates, which can lead to further tooth loss. Since a dental bridge sits above the gum line, it’s not able to protect you in the way that a dental implant can.

Implants are custom-crafted to perfectly match your teeth, including their shape, size, and shade. Once placed, even you might have a tough time recognizing which tooth is your implant! Implants can be used in combination with other tooth replacement options, including bridges and even dentures, to provide additional stability and security, allowing you to benefit from their bone-protecting qualities.
